The connected car service is offered through technology provided by Cisco Jasper and Bright Box
BARCELONA, Spain–Japanese car manufacturer Honda has implemented technology from Cisco Jasper and Bright Box to deliver the MyHonda connected car platform.
The MyHonda connected car platform utilizes telematics solutions provided by Bright Box, and powered by the Cisco Jasper Control Center automated IoT connectivity management platform, to deliver a variety of connected services.
Honda confirmed during the Mobile World Congress 2017 that it will launch these connected car services across all European countries.

The IoT services that Bright Box and Cisco Jasper enable us to deliver help ensure that Honda drivers receive the best possible driving experience,” Sandra Hughes, Head of Marketing and Product Management at Honda Motor Europe, said.
The new connected car platform will offer drives vehicle information and diagnostics, which will be sent in real time to track the health of their vehicle.
The platform will also alert drivers when maintenance is needed. Drivers will be also able to easily schedule appointments with the push of a button.
The MyHonda platform also offers GPS tracking for location-based services.

Bright Box is a telematics service provider that is already using Cisco Jasper Control Center on four other continents with six OEMs. Bright Box has partnered with Post Luxembourg, who provides the connectivity for Honda’s pan-European project on Control Center.
Cisco Jasper Control Center enabled Bright Box to extend the automated connectivity management for Honda’s vehicles across six European countries today. And Cisco Jasper’s partnerships with more than 50 service providers, which manage IoT devices across more than 550 mobile networks worldwide, will enable Honda to expand their services globally as needed.

Unlimit, Cumulocity ink IoT partnership in India
In related news, Indian IoT firm Unlimit, owned by local holding Reliance Group, and Cumulocity, an internet of things software platform provider, have announced a strategic partnership to deliver IoT solutions in India.
The partnership extends Unlimit’s connectivity offering with Cumulocity’s IoT application enablement platform.
The combined offering will allow Unlimit’s customers to have access to machine, sensor and device integration; data collection and normalization; and real-time analytics for condition monitoring.
“With the number of connected devices in India projected to rise from 200 million today to 3 billion by 2020, nearly every part of the economy will be positively impacted by IoT. We are delighted to partner with Cumulocity to unlock the full potential of IoT for our customers,” Juergen Hase, CEO of Unlimit, said.
