Gap Wireless, a leading stocking distributor of mobile wireless solutions, has added industry-leading drones, sensors, software and UAV support services to its roster of available products and solutions. The solutions – from top vendors in the UAV marketplace – enable everything from deployment of drones and recording of data, to downloading and analyzing content, to setting up safe and compliant drone operations. For comprehensive UAV inspection applications, Gap Wireless is closing the gap with effective UAV access and cloud-based big data management.
The UAV Solutions portfolio from Gap Wireless meets the need for infrastructure inspections of broadcast and cellular antennas, hydro tower installations, wind and solar power sites, pipeline inspections and public safety applications. Easier, safer and accurate tower inspections are now possible using a smart phone, tablet, or UAV.
Vendor partners in the UAV category understand inspection challenges of sufficient battery power, agility, payload, and image quality. Some of the UAVs provided by Gap Wireless include:

  • The SenseFly Albris which features fully-integrated sensors and software, while being ultra-light and easy to use;
  • The DJI Inspire and the DJI Matrice 600 which are industry-leading UAVs designed for industrial applications spanning world-class imaging, intelligent battery systems, quick set-up, and Precision Hovering for instant braking and hovering;
  • The Sentera Indago which is a Lockheed Martin, quad-rotor platform with interchangeable cameras, including thermal imagers and custom payloads.

Sensors stocked and distributed by Gap Wireless are provided by Sentera and DJI, ensuring top quality imaging meeting specific requirements for applications such as high-megapixel color stills, NIR & NDVI data, 4K video, thermal infrared video, and more.
Software is critical to maximizing the benefit of data captured during drone forays, and vendor partners Sentera and Skyward bring the intelligence needed for cloud-based analysis. Sentera’s OnTop Platform provides data analytic software for both desktop and mobile applications, with the capability of analyzing image data and recording exact locations, date, time, and asset type. Imagery is saved to a securely encrypted cloud server, making it available instantly anywhere in the world.
Skyward’s Flight Management software makes it easy for operators to track specific information and airspace data to support business, insurance or regulatory requirements. Gap Wireless also provides support services from Skyward, including the Skyward Regulatory Toolkit and Take Flight Package. Skyward’s Take Flight Package maximizes best practices to enable commercial drone operators to build and manage a safe, successful business.
The final piece of the UAV ecosystem is training, and Gap Wireless works with Kaizen Kinetics to deliver comprehensive UAV operation and maintenance training. Kaizen Kinetics’ UAS ground school includes lectures and video, flight simulator lessons, and field training with instructors. Expert flight training is also available.
The UAV Solutions offering from Gap Wireless builds on the company’s legacy of working with industry-recognized vendors to stock and distribute wireless infrastructure and Test & Measurement products. The 15,000 square foot Gap Wireless warehouse and headquarters in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada houses thousands of products for distribution throughout North America, supporting wireless telecom providers and users of advanced Test & Measurement solutions. Gap Wireless also provides value-added technical/engineering services including in-house PIM testing, integration, kitting, logistics, and VMI.
