Sprint unlimited LTE data remains an option

Unlimitedville offers Sprint unlimited LTE data, claims no overage or throttling

Unlimited and unthrottled mobile data is increasingly being squeezed out by wireless carriers, although there is at least one option from Sprint remaining.

Tennessee-based Unlimitedville continues to offer what it calls unlimited and unthrottled mobile broadband services via Sprint’s network for $43 per month. The service, which is highlighted by RVMobileInternet.com, provides access via a Netgear Zing Mobile hot spot device compatible with Sprint’s LTE network.

Unlimitedville states that the service is “never throttled” and has “no overage charges,” and is targeted at “incorporated businesses and sole proprietors” that it said can include “almost anyone … if you have some kind of hobby or make money doing various things that are not your profession.” Those looking to access the service do need to apply via the Unlimitedville website, provide a $50 activation fee and sign up for a two-year plan.

Sprint and T-Mobile US continue to offer “unlimited” data services for smartphone customers, though both also have recently increased the price for their respective services. Those services also have a soft cap that allow for the carriers to deprioritize a customer’s service should they surpass 23 gigabytes of usage per month and be attempting to access service via a congested cell site.

Verizon Wireless and AT&T Mobility stopped offering unlimited data plans to customers several years ago, and have since instituted numerous conditions on that usage, including data throttling and price increases. AT&T has come under intense scrutiny for its move, while Verizon Wireless moved away from speed throttling on its LTE network through a “network optimization” plan after having received a concerned letter from Federal Communications Commission Chairman Tom Wheeler.

Unlimitedville also offers an unlimited data service via Verizon Wireless, though the service is priced at $198 per month.

Sprint is also in the midst of a protracted legal proceeding with Mobile Citizen and Mobile Beacon over unlimited data access. Those two entities currently offer unlimited and unthrottled mobile data access via’s Sprint’s legacy WiMAX network, which Sprint is looking to shut down. Mobile Citizen and Mobile Beacon are looking to migrate their access to Sprint’s LTE network.
