A secure solution from Ericsson and Intel Security
The explosion of connectivity over the last few years has brought value to all sorts of new frontiers in business and society. But with all that growth comes increased difficulty to keep information on the networks safe and secure. Ericsson and Intel Security are teaming up to address that problem by bringing increased security to vulnerable networks. The agreement will help telecom operators bundle security solutions with their existing services.
The move combines Intel Security’s consumer and enterprise security solutions with Ericsson’s managed services, network security expertise and global delivery capabilities, which the two companies believe it will strengthen enterprises’ security capabilities.
Telecom operators will be able to use their regulatory expertise and local response capabilities to initially help battle intrusion of system services, as well as provide e-mail and Web security solutions.
Ericsson hopes that by supporting the network and its 2.5 billion subscribers, it will help lay the foundation for a truly networked society. The company believes its collaboration with Intel Security will protect valuable intellectual property, data, devices and identities so that the network can grow securely.
“Intel Security has an exceptional, end-to-end consumer and enterprise security product portfolio,” according to Jean-Claude Geha, Ericsson’s VP and head of managed services. “Ericsson is the leader in telecom managed services with the scale, skills and people required to make Intel’s security solutions available to telecom operators around the world.”
“Telecommunications networks are a critical component of the economic and social infrastructures that we rely upon,” Chris Young, SVP and GM of Intel Security, said. “Together, Intel Security and Ericsson are working to keep the well over 3 billion people across the globe that use these systems safe and secure.”
There have been no details released about the terms of the agreement.
