Indonesia’s largest mobile operator Telkomsel is partnering for IOT/M2M Cloud services

Telkomsel is partnering with Jasper to bring “Internet of Things”/Machine-to-Machine services to businesses across Indonesia. The partnership will allow Telkomsel business customers to use the cloud-based Jasper IoT Service Platform to launch, manage and monetize businesses.

Telkomsel will provide its M2M Control Center for the product, providing capabilities including mobile service management, real-time support and diagnostics, billing and business automation.

Vodafone Egypt signs financing deal

Vodafone Egypt sealed a deal with seven banks Monday worth $563 Million. Vodafone has been negotiating the loan since October. Executives say the loan will be used to modernize the Vodafone network and may go toward any new license the company may consider.

AirMedia partners with China Telecom for in-flight connectivity

Network Operator AirMedia Group has joined up with a subsidiary of China Telecom to expand Wi-Fi. The China Telecom company uses satellites to provide internet access to remote, mountainous and other rural areas. Air Media hopes the partnership will provide in-flight connectivity and media entertainment to passengers.

Bharti Airtel shares up after tower deal

Bharti Airtel shares closed Tuesday with gains of more than 1 cent. The increase comes after Bhartie Airtel made an agreement to sell 4,800 towers to American Towers Company for more than $1 billion.

Thailand operator investing in 4G

Advanced Info Service is investing more than $1 billion in 4G. The money will go directly toward developing 4G and fixed-broadband services. AIS leads Thailand’s mobile market with almost 44 million customers, but nearly 40 million of them are still 3G subscribers.
