Tech Mahindra acquires Anritsu mobile device test platform

International systems integrator and consulting company Tech Mahindra, said it has purchased a mobile device test platform from Anritsu to expand its LTE conformance and carrier acceptance testing.

Tech Mahindra is part of the $15.9 billion Mahindra Group and focuses on serving the telecommunications industry. It has four locations in the United States, including a test and certification lab located in New Jersey.

The ME7834L Mobile Device Test Platform can reportedly simulate multiple LTE, W-CDMA and CDMA2000 cells and provides test capability for both 3G and LTE protocol certification testing, as well as 3G and LTE carrier acceptance testing for “two major LTE wireless carriers,” according to Anritsu. Because the system can be used for either LTE conformance or carrier acceptance testing, Anritsu said it “enables quick turnaround test capability without the use of multiple systems.”

The company added that due to the MDTP’s validated protocol conformance testing coverage, the platform provides the shortest path to certification for device vendors. The ME7834L has test case coverage in 21 of 28 LTE bands.

Wade Hulon, GM and VP of Anritsu, said that the platform “has been selected by many of the major LTE labs in the industry. Anritsu has offered the LTE device ecosystem the widest range of LTE device test solutions since the initial rollout of LTE networks, and looks forward to assisting the acceleration of device development as LTE enters the mainstream.”

Tech Mahindra serves telecom service providers, equipment manufacturers, software vendors and systems integrators around the world. The company has principal offices in Europe, the Middle East, Australia, India and southeast Asia, and has development centers which are ISO 9001:2008 and BS7799 certified.
