Mobile solutions company Port Indigo launches India subsidiary

Port Indigo Inc, a US-based mobile solutions company, has launched operations in India.

The company established its India presence to cater to the Indian mobile user, offering technology to help overcome usage barriers such as unfamiliarity with the mobile phone, it said in a statement.

With Port Indigo’s technology even the unversed mobile user will be able to use advanced features on their mobile phone and access a wide variety of content and services, the company said.

“India is an important and exciting market that is at the crossroads of mobile and Internet communications. With our entry into this market, we are set to tap into this high potential by providing easy to use and yet affordable solutions. To this end, we have an exciting array of products and services that are slated for release over the coming months and years, and I am confident that the Indian mobile user will derive immense benefits from our unique technologies,” Port Indigo CEO Moses Merchant stated while explaining his company’s strategy for entering the Indian market.

The company is seeking to create a strong presence in India that would help handset manufacturers in differentiating their products, help mobile network operators (MNOs) to maximize revenue through innovative premium range service plans, and help content providers in reaching out to new audiences hitherto unexposed to rich media entertainment and other Internet services.

The company is currently in advanced stages of negotiations with several business entities to promote its offerings.
