Benner, TBA Group create joint venture focused on cloud

Two Brazilian vendors have formed a joint venture for a a cloud-computing company. Benner Systems, the third-largest domestic supplier of business management software, and TBA Group, a leading information technology conglomerate in Brazil, announced they created a joint venture called GlobalWeb Corp. This company will offer cloud-computing solutions and software as a service (SaaS) solutions. GlobalWeb Corp.’s revenue is estimated to reach R$ 240 million (US $150 million) in 2011.

Under the agreement, Benner will merge with GlobalWeb, the TBA Group arm for hosting services, full outsourcing and management challenges. Together, the two companies will operate under the name brand GlobalWeb Corp. and the name Benner will used for a business unit of business management applications in the new company. Former Benner Systems CEO and founder Severino Benner will be CEO of GlobalWeb Corp.

GlobalWeb counts 1,500 employees, and about half of its employees are certified in several technologies. The initial customers base is estimated at 800 firms. The company expects to surpass R$ 500 million of revenue to the fiscal 2014, boosted by an annual growth rate of 28%.

GlobalWeb said that it will begin recruiting sales and service resellers channels, aiming to achieve 300 resellers in the first year of operation, starting with an existing base of 120 partners throughout Brazil.

GlobalWeb has three business divisions: applications business management; outsourcing and managed IT services; and marketing and development of solutions on the Microsoft Corp. platform.
