Syniverse Mobile Video Broadcast Service receives Innovation Award
TAMPA, Fla. – June 27, 2011 – Judges of the inaugural Asia Communication Awards presented Syniverse with the prestigious Innovation Award in Singapore on Wednesday, June 22, recognizing the groundbreaking Syniverse Mobile Video Broadcast Service, which enables live streaming video delivery across disparate 3G and 4G networks, mobile devices, and PCs.
This Syniverse technology makes mobile video communications work by allowing any mobile user on any network around the globe the ability to receive a live video stream initiated by the mobile device of the “home” network subscriber – without requiring any new technology, software or application on the receiving mobile handset or PC. This unique, cross-platform video tool evolved from Syniverse’s heritage of bridging network, platform and device islands around the world for SMS and then MMS. Syniverse experts developed the very first camera phone and sent the industry’s first picture message.
