Capital Markets: AdaptiveMobile acquires Sentry Wireless; Glympse receives funding; and more

CML Microsystems Plc , a mixed-signal semiconductor company headquartered close to London, England, has acquired the exclusive rights to the RALCWI low bit-rate vocoder products from Spirit Corp, a Moscow based software company. CML originally licensed RALCWI from Spirit a few years ago to run on its proprietary system on chip (SoC) DSP technology after playing a key role in its specification, and has continued to enhance the performance and feature-set of the product.

DN Capital, the international early stage and growth equity investor, announced the completion of the sale of portfolio company Datanomic to Oracle Corporation. DN Capital was a significant shareholder in Datanomic and the only institutional investor. Following this transaction, DN Capital’s second fund (DN Capital GVC II), which made its first investments in 2008, has already paid back the vast majority of invested capital and is showing clear top quartile returns to investors.

AdaptiveMobile, mobile security, is announcing the acquisition of Sentry Wireless, a developer of handset based mobile security applications. Sentry’s technology will be integrated into AdaptiveMobile’s Network Protection Platform to give mobile operators visibility when subscriber handsets become infected by rogue mobile applications and viruses, and limit subscriber loss of data and credit.

Glympse, the company behind location sharing app Glympse, announced it has passed 1 million users, in addition to closing a $7.5 million Series B round led by Menlo Ventures and Ignition Partners. Glympse iPhone and Android apps let users quickly share their location – for a specified window of time – with anyone they choose.

ZAGG Inc. announced the acquisition of privately held iFrogz, mobile device accessories company specializing in lifestyle audio products and protective cases, for approximately $105 million.
