Movers & Shakers: Oracle's president Catz will act as CFO; Meru Network announces new Senior VP; and more

Oracle Corporation announced that Oracle President Safra Catz will assume the additional responsibility of Chief Financial Officer. Ms. Catz’s appointment follows the resignation of the company’s current CFO, Jeff Epstein, who reported directly to Ms. Catz. The company announced Ms. Catz’s appointment is permanent and is effective immediately.

Movius Interactive Corporation, a global leader in unified communications solutions, has appointed Howard Shaw, a vastly experienced senior executive across both the EMEA and Asia regions, as its new Vice President of International Sales. Shaw joins Movius from QPC, where he was responsible for all operations for the company’s business across the Middle East, Africa and Asia, with a solutions portfolio dedicated to transformation of customer services.

Meru Networks Inc., enterprise wireless networking, announced Larry Vaughn as the new Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales, Services and Support, and Philip Simmons as the new Senior Vice President of Engineering. Both Vaughn and Simmons bring strong leadership skills, as well as global and domestic industry expertise to both complement and contribute to Meru’s global growth initiatives.

The Open Standard for Public Transport (OSPT) Alliance announced the appointment of Laurent Cremer as the organization’s first executive director. A global business development executive with extensive experience in the technology and transit industries, Mr. Cremer will lead OSPT’s push to establish CIPURSE (TM) as the primary e-ticketing open security standard for next-generation transit fare collection systems.
