ZTE Corporation has withdrawn a court case seeking to block the award of a contract by TOT Plc for a 16-billion-baht nationwide 3G network expansion.
The move by the Chinese telecom equipment maker could allow the state telecom enterprise to sign a contract with the bid winner, the SL consortium of Samart Telcom Plc and Loxley.
However, Ericsson (Thailand) says it is still going ahead with its case against TOT and had already submitted paperwork to the court in support of its petition.
Four groups submitted bids for the TOT project but only two passed the first stage. ZTE was disqualified for providing unrealistic financial calculations.
