Mu Dynamics Inc. unveiled a testing solution that can accurately recreate how applications will impact wireless networks. The proliferation of third-party applications that end users are downloading to smartphones can leave wireless operators unaware of what is going across their networks and how those apps are impacting the networks.
The solution includes a number of tests as part of the Mu TestCloud, an online community of top-tier operators and network equipment manufacturers. The solution can show the app impacts the ntework, what happens to the network when a lot of people adopt the app and whether the app is secure, said co-founder and CTO Kowsik Guruswamy.
“Identifying and validating applications just as they are deployed on the network has become a
necessity for service providers in the new application-aware network environment,” said Peter
Jarich, Service Director, Current Analysis. “Proactively testing application policies for how they
govern security, scalability and functionality gives service providers the information they need to
ensure their networks are performing at the levels required to keep end users satisfied.”
Mu’s Guruswamy also said the solution can figure out deep packet inspection and other insights in days rather than weeks or months.
