Sprint Nextel Corp. expanded its play into the prepaid mobile broadband space announcing an agreement with Telespree Communications to provide a mobile service management solution to the carrier’s wholesale partners looking to add broadband to their line up.
The offering, dubbed Mobile Broadband on Demand, provides Sprint Nextel’s wholesale partners with a customizeable user interface and self-service account management tools. The service allows wholesalers to offer either time-based or usage-based data services that can be managed online.
Initial devices available through the offering include Novatel Wireless Inc.’s MiFi2200 mobile hot spot, Novatel’s U760 wireless modem and Sierra Wireless Inc.’s 598U wireless modem.
Telespree has worked with Sprint Nextel on provisioning voice services for wholesale partners as well as with Virgin Mobile USA Inc. on over-the-air provisioning of voice services.
