Rural wireless operator Mosaic Telecom said it has signed a deal with Nokia Siemens Networks to install an LTE network in eight Wisconsin counties using the carrier’s 700 MHz and 1700/2100 MHz spectrum assets.
Mosaic, which is part of Chibardun Telephone Cooperative, currently provides GSM/W-CDMA services in parts of Wisconsin.
As part of the deal NSN said it would supply its Evolved Packed Core solution comprising Flexi Network Server and Flexi Network Gateway; its LTE radio network based on the Flexi Multiradio Base Station; its Value-Added Reseller’s Pario Solutions; and provide its NetAct product to monitor, manage and optimize the operator’s network.
In addition Mosaic is deploying a NSN 3G femtocell solution to improve in-building coverage based on a previous agreement with NSN and Airvana Corp.
Financial terms of the agreement were not released.
