A report from inside China Unicom (NYSE: CHU; 0762.HK; 600050.SH) yesterday said that to date the operator has sold nearly 600,000 iPhone 4 handsets. More than 700,000 users pre-ordered the phone, meaning another 100,000 pre-orders are yet to be filled.
Unicom said yesterday that the number of subscribers placing orders for iPhone 4s had not declined, and that product supplies were still insufficient to meet demand, meaning that Unicom’s new iPhone policies had not had any significant negative impact on user desire for the phone.
