Comtech Telecommunications Corp. Wins $1.3 Million Order for Equipment to Support Mobile Backhaul

MELVILLE, N.Y., Dec. 13, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Comtech Telecommunications Corp. (Nasdaq:CMTL) announced today that its Tempe, Arizona-based subsidiary, Comtech EF Data Corp., won a $1.3 million order for satellite communications infrastructure equipment. The equipment will support a satellite-based mobile backhaul network in Latin America.
The order includes a comprehensive list of Comtech EF Data equipment, including modems plus indoor and outdoor RF products. Both the CDM-625 Advanced Satellite Modem and the CDM-600 Open Network Satellite Modems were ordered, featuring bandwidth efficiencies that increase satellite link throughput and reduce operating expenses. The feature set is particularly useful for mobile operators in bandwidth-challenged regions. On the RF side, the order includes transceivers, amplifiers and converters that provide cost-effective frequency conversion and field proven performance and reliability.
