  • The agreement underpins the strategic importance of the MNC segment to both organisations
  • KPN and Telefonica further enhance their managed mobility solutions for multinational customers
Madrid, The Hague – November 25, 2010
KPN and Telefonica have signed a partnership agreement for multinational customers. This is yet a further step in an ongoing long term relationship that will enhance both companies ability to deliver global services within each other markets to their respective multinational customers (MNC), with a focus on managed mobility solutions. With strong positions in complimentary markets, the partnership underpins the strategic importance of the MNC segment to both organisations. It was signed by Telefonica International Wholesale Services on behalf of the Telefonica Group The agreement will enable provision of service to more than 1200 MNC’s across both Telefonica and KPN, delivering a strong footprint across the important European region and incorporating key emerging territories. The partnership spans more than 20 countries including Netherlands, Belgium, UK, Spain, Mexico, Brazil and Argentina, among others. Germany, where  both companies have competing mobile operations, is excluded from the agreement.  The agreement defines how KPN and Telefonica will collaborate and support each other in the multinational segment, incorporating products and service development, service level agreements (SLAs), bid management, relationship management and central reporting.  Commenting on the agreement, Ron de Mos, Director KPN Business Market: “With this partnership, we reaffirm our focus on providing first class services to multinational corporations. This cooperation adds additional value to our current   MNC propositions. Its reciprocal nature, combined with the mutual extension of coverage and services brings many advantages in the mobile workspace” Regarding the benefits of the partnership, Juan C.  Lopez-Vives, Telefonica Multinational Solutions Director said: “The partnership with KPN enhances our value proposition to the multinational segment and  provides an important opportunity to deliver a high quality service to MNC customers in the markets where KPN operates. It reconfirms our commitment to the MNC segment and is a yet a further milestone in our ongoing development”Jose Ramón Vela, CEO of TIWS commented  “This new agreement extends our current collaboration with KPN to include corporate mobile services and therefore reinforce our position in the multinational market segment.
