Dell Inc. (DELL) is ready to start selling the Venue Pro again after halting sales three weeks ago due to Wi-Fi connectivity problems and mislabeled batteries.
The Windows Phone 7 smart phone is now available directly from Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) and Dell without contract. The device is also available through those same channels on a new contract with T-Mobile USA Inc. with 8GB for $100 or 16GB for $150.
The slider-style Venue Pro features a vertical QWERTY keyboard, a 5-megapixel camera and a 4.1-inch AMOLED touch screen. The device is powered by Qualcomm Inc.’s (QCOM) 1GHz Snapdragon processor.
“No matter how you slide it, the Dell Venue Pro with Windows Phone 7 brings a fresh new approach of doing more with less,” said Michael Tatelman, Dell’s VP and GM of consumer sales and marketing. “We’re continuing a path of creating smart, innovative and new mobile experiences to help people discover new ways to enjoy the web, connect with friends, and navigate their lives.”
