NTT DoCoMo Inc. completed its acquisition of the remaining shares of PacketVideo that were previously held by NextWave Wireless Inc. The transaction is valued at $11.6 million. DoCoMo acquired 35% of PacketVideo last year. PacketVideo is now a wholly owned subsidiary of NTT DoCoMo and will operate as an autonomous operation with its own board of directors and under the direction of its founder and CEO James Brailean.
Adtran Inc. reported third-quarter sales of $163 million, up 27% from sales of $128.1 million during the same period last year. Net income increased 49% to $32.1 million, or 50 cents per share, compared with net income of $21.6 million, or 34 cents per share, during the corresponding period a year ago.
CalAmp Corp. reported financial results for its second fiscal quarter, which ended Aug. 31. Revenues for the quarter were $29.5 million, up 23.2% from revenues of $23.9 million during the same period last year. Net loss for the quarter was $200,000, or 1 cent per share, compared with net loss of $2.3 million or 9 cents per share, during the same period last year.
