Alliances: Amdocs supports Mobilicity; Ip.access teams with Qualcomm; and more

Mobilicity, which provides3.5G pay-in-advance services in Canada, deployed Amdocs‘ products using a managed services model to establish its entire OSS and BSS operations. The Amdocs customer experience systems support the entire order-to-cash and order-to-activation processes for Mobilicity, starting with new orders from the Web or retail locations to activating and supporting devices and finally to billing and revenue collection.
Alltel Wireless selected Bytemobile Inc.‘s integrated Web, video and gateway platform to manage its increasing volume and changing mix of traffic on its network. Alltel also will use Bytemobile’s content filtering solution, which will allow parents to manage content on their child’s mobile device.
Femtocell and picocell solutions provider Ip.access signed a femtocell technology development agreement with Qualcomm Inc. The agreement allows ip.access to develop W-CDMA residential and enterprise femtocell products using Qualcomm’s Femtocell Station Modem chipset platform.

NeoMedia Technologies Inc., which provides mobile barcode scanning solutions, and Samsung Electronics Italy said they plan to collaborate on mobile enterprise services for customers throughout Italy. The partnership calls for NeoMedia’s NeoReader Enterprise application to come pre-loaded on Samsung’s Omnia II devices. The two companies also are assessing the possibility of including the NeoReader product on all Samsung platforms in the future.
Globe Telecom has partnered with SMS GupShup, a popular Social SMS network, to launch the SMS Reply-All Chat service in the Philippines. The service will allow Globe customers to simultaneously communicate with multiple people using short message service. The company said the Reply-All service is similar to the CC and Reply-all functions commonly found in e-mail applications.
