Streambox and Fisher Communications Inc. announced a strategic partnership to develop solutions that will allow Fisher and other broadcasters to expand video contribution and Web streaming initiatives for all distribution platforms. Fisher is also the first customer for Streambox’s Avenir compact mobile encoder. Through the partnership, Fisher said it will continue to expand its use of the Streambox Live broadband video contribution service, which it has been using for two months.
BuzzCity, a mobile advertising network, and Bitstream Inc. announced an agreement to deliver mobile advertising via Bitstream’s BOLT mobile browser. Bitstream said it will use BuzzCity’s Mobile Advertising Network to introduce a new revenue stream via strategically placed advertising.
Dell and Aruba Networks Inc. announced a multi-year agreement to deliver Aruba’s wireless networking solutions under the Dell PowerConnect W-Series. The product line is designed to help customers deploy and manage wireless networking solutions more efficiently.
MTN South Africa said it worked with Qualcomm Inc. to test and enhance the coverage of its 3G network at major stadiums during the 2010 FIFA World Cup soccer tournament. The carrier said it was able to use the test results to boost its wireless coverage and optimize services for fans attending the tournament events.
