The World Bank and Gemalto announced a memorandum of understanding that calls for the pair to work together to use information and communication technology to support social and economic development in developing countries. The collaboration is part of the World Bank’s eTransformation Initiative. Gemalto will bring its experience in secure electronic identity and mobile financial services to the partnership.
