Compass Medical PC is a large physician and multi specialist RSO in Massachusetts. In an effort to expand exam rooms and increase provider access for their patients, Compass Medical moved its business office and call center to a new building 250 yards away on the other side of a wetlands area.
The connection needed to be transparent in the network, available 24×7, secure, remotely monitored, remotely managed, overcome New England weather, support all standard network protocols, and installed in two weeks from order.
Compass Medical’s Director of Information Technology (Robert Clairmont) and the IT staff had explored using traditional Telco fiber connections (with a 30 to 120 day costly installation), installing private poles and fiber (introducing maintenance, environmental impact, and negatively impacting “curb appeal”), and many MMRF/WI-MAX solutions.
After exploring the wireless technologies, GigaBeam stood out.
