On-the-go consumers are using their phones to stay connected to their social networking communities, according to new data from AOL.
The portal said MySpace was the most popular mobile search term this year, followed in order by AIM, iPhone, MocoSpace and Facebook. Other popular search terms included Craigslist, weather, MapQuest and Match.com.
MySpace and Facebook also ranked among the top 10 search terms last year.
“While the economy and the elections grabbed the majority of headlines and consumes’ mindshare this year, America’s continuing obsession with celebrities and pop culture were also clearly evident across Web, mobile and video searches,” said John Kannapell, SVP of AOL Search.
