EA Mobile said it will expand its support for Nokia Corp.’s N-Gage platform with nearly a dozen new, high-profile titles over the next year.
EA Sports FIFA 09, Spore Origins and Monopoly Here & Now: The World Edition will launch in time for the holiday season, according to the subsidiary of gaming giant Electronic Arts Inc. Other games set for release next year include Need For Speed Undercover, Tiger Woods PGA Tour and The Sims, as well as a new Tomb Raider title.
A core component of Nokia’s Ovi brand, N-Gage launched earlier this year after a series of delays. Like Apple’s iPhone, the platform is seen as the next great hope for a mobile gaming industry that has failed to move beyond a niche market to reach mainstream mobile users.
N-Gage titles are compatible with Nokia’s Nseries and other S60 third-edition devices.
