Verizon Wireless deepens enterprise efforts with Field Force Manager

Verizon Wireless is rolling out a new enterprise solution geared to increase worker productivity and decrease operational costs for its business customers.
The country’s second largest carrier announced today its Field Force Manager offering that Verizon Wireless said provides businesses the ability to manage workers and job functions in near real-time. Management features include the ability to locate remote workers, schedule and dispatch jobs and receive fleet, job and employee reports. Field workers with smartphones can submit timecards, job status information and get turn-by-turn driving directions.
The solution, which has a starting cost of $15 per month, will be available Friday on a number of devices including the MOTO Q 9c and BlackBerry Curve 8330 and the 8330 World Edition smartphones, according to the company. The solution will be available on additional handsets later this year.
“With Field Force Manager now available on numerous devices, our business customers now have a choice in how they stay connected with their workforce in and out of the office,” Rob Miller, Verizon Wireless VP of marketing, said in a press statement.
The company’s new solution comes about a month after a report by Current Analysis said Verizon Wireless has “not launched many innovative value-added services with which to develop a deeper relationship with enterprise users.”
