ReVerb introduces VirtualRAN

ReVerb Networks, a smart antenna and network optimization company, introduced its VirtualRAN family of products at WiMAX World this week.

The products address the demand for cost-effective capacity solutions for WiMAX, LTE and UMTS/HSPA networks, said the company.

“The perfect storm is brewing in the advanced wireless data market. Usage and capacity requirements are skyrocketing, ARPU is flat, while spectrum and tower space are shrinking,” said Bill Carlin, CEO of ReVerb Networks. “These market dynamics have put serious cost pressure on wireless operators to find alternate capacity solutions. “Our VirtualRAN solutions reduce radio area network capital expenditures via fewer tower and antenna requirements, reduce RAN operational expenditures with remote control and fewer test drives, and increase RAN performance approaching three times
capacity, flexible sector shaping, adaptive load balancing and maximum sector efficiency.”

The VirtualRAN solution includes server based software, which controls integrated antenna array products to control and optimize sub-sectors, resulting in network capacity gain and individual operator control when sharing radio frequency,” said the company. The company also offers fully integrated antennas with digital processing and control.
