The following list details this week’s infrastructure awards for the cellular, Wi-Fi, and WiMAX industries. The contracts are broken down by transmission technology, country and vendor. The value of the contract is included when available.
Cellular
–Brazil: Brasil Telecom selected Ericsson for a W-CDMA/HSPA network deployment and systems integration of the carrier’s IP Multimedia Subsystem.
–Mexico: Ericsson said it has been chosen by Telcel to provide field maintenance activities for more than 3,800 additional cell sites in the carrier’s GSM and TDMA networks.
Miscellaneous
–Indonesia: Ericsson has been chosen by Telekomunikas Selular Indonesia to provide its Mobile Softswitch Solution. The MSS solution will provide a common core network platform for both GSM and W-CDMA technology and boost the carrier’s capacity, performance and coverage.
–United States: Trango Broadband Wireless said it won a five-year U.S. General Services Administration Schedule 70 contract to provide government agencies with information technology and telecommunications products and professional services.
