Monitise plc, Metavante Technologies Ltd. and Carphone Warehouse said they are working together to launch a “mobile money” application.
The plan calls for the introduction of Carphone Warehouse prepaid cards that can be managed from cellphones and used for shopping in millions of locations, said the companies. Customers will be able to top up their cards from their bank account and monitor transactions using their phone.
Metavante provides prepaid and licensed software in the European market. Monitise provides a mobile banking and payments network.
