Sunrise Telecom Inc. introduced a monitoring and analysis platform designed to help operators better manage their mobile data services. Mobile X-Ray correlates information from the network, services, subscribers and devices using the Oracle-based Expert Engine.
Basically, as wireless operators grow their data offerings, they have to monitor many different layers of infrastructure, which can be difficult because they have to use different tools, said Michele Campriani, general manger of Sunrise Telecom’s Protocol Product Group. Operators need a set of integrated tools to probe and centralize monitoring, he noted.
Mobile X-Ray combines the information from different parts of the network to help operators troubleshoot problems in real time. Often the problems are as simple as the device being not configured properly to run on the network, and can be solved easily if the operator is aware of the problem, Campriani said.
