Adobe Systems Inc. is aligning its mobile and platform operations in an effort to bridge the gap between desktop computers and wireless phones.
The company said it will fold its Mobile and Devices Business Unit (MDBU) into its Experience Technology group, which is led by CTO Kevin Lynch. Gary Kovacs, who previously served as VP of product management and marketing for the MDBU, was promoted to VP and GM of the business unit and will report to Lynch.
“Key to delivering a well-integrated technology platform is engineering our desktop and device technology more closely together,” said Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen. “Bringing our mobile and platform businesses together under the leadership of. Lynch better positions us to meet the needs of our increasingly diverse customer base.”
