Qwest Communications International Inc. ended 2007 with 824,000 wireless customers, up 2.9% from the 801,000 subscribers it counted at the close of 2006. The carrier offers mobile service through a mobile virtual network operator agreement with Sprint Nextel Corp.
The company reported $138 million in wireless-related revenue during the quarter, marking a 2.1% drop from the $141 million it earned in the year-ago period.
Qwest brought in $260 million in net income for the quarter overall, the company said.
It closed 2007 with a total of $560 million in wireless-related revenue, up just half a percent from the $557 million it saw in revenues for 2006.
Finally, average revenue per user hit $49 in the quarter, down 2% from the $50 it generated a year prior.
Company stock is up 5.5% to $5.41 on the news.
