Following up on its July announcement, AT&T Mobility this morning said it would bring Research In Motion Ltd.’s BlackBerry 8820 to market at $300 with a two-year contract.
The carrier said that the Wi-Fi-enabled device could roam on 10,000 hotspots in the United States-for a fee-as well as “tens of thousands” of hot spots internationally.
“Beyond Wi-Fi, the 8820 boasts built-in GPS, Push To Talk and AT&T Mobile Music,” said John Kampfe, spokesperson for AT&T Mobility.
AT&T said the handset could serve enterprise users on corporate campus Wi-Fi networks and consumers could use it on home-based hotspots.
