The International Trade Commission launched a probe of certain 3G mobile handsets and components supplied by No.1 mobile-phone vendor Nokia Inc.
The ITC said InterDigital Communications L.L.C. complained Nokia phones and components that infringe the former’s patents are being imported into the United States. InterDigital asked the FCC to issue an exclusion order and permanent cease and desist orders.
The ITC said that while it has opened an investigation of Nokia, no decision has been made on the merits of the case.
Nokia could not immediately be reached for comment.
