Nokia Corp. said it will team with online casual gaming destination Shockwave to offer Flash Lite-enabled “mini games” on its handsets in Europe and Asia.
Shockwave, a property of MTV Networks, offers about three dozen no-frills, inexpensive titles under the brand Shockwave Minis. Nokia said it will make the games available through its Content Discoverer client; the move marks the first time Nokia will offer Flash-based games.
An initial offering of 20 games is planned; titles will eventually include offerings based on other MTV Networks properties.
Shockwave Minis are available in the United States through Verizon Wireless.
“This is a great extension of our goal to bring a wide catalog of fun and simple Shockwave and MTVN branded games to a global audience wherever they may be,” said Dave Williams, senior VP of Shockwave.
