The following list includes venture capital and other investments into wireless companies announced during the past week. The value of the investment is included when available.
–KickApps: SoftBank Capital led an $11 million Series B funding round into KickApps Corp., a hosted social media platform company. Existing investors Spark Capital, Prism VentureWorks and Jarl Mohn, former CEO of Liberty Digital Inc., participated in the funding. Jordan Levy, a partner with SoftBank, joined KickApps board of directors in connection with the funding round. The company said it will use the funding to promote its platform particularly in the Web developer community and media and entertainment industries.
–TravellingWave: Several individual investors invested an undisclosed amount into mobile speech technology firm TravellingWave. The angel investors included Jim Judson, a partner in the Seattle law firm Davis Wright Tremaine L.L.P.; Geoff Entress, a principal with Seattle-based venture-capital firm Madrona Venture Group; Bill Miller, formerly of OVP Ventures; and Colin Wong, founder of investment firm Prosperati.
