Consumers in the Miami-Fort Lauderdale, Fla., market use mobile coupons at a higher rate than consumers in other U.S. markets, according to research by mobile coupon company Cellfire.
Markets in Northern California and Texas made up the majority of the remaining top 10 markets for mobile coupon usage. The findings were based on mobile coupons redeemed during the first six months of this year.
More than two-thirds of coupons redeemed were used by shoppers between the ages of 18 and 34, followed by shoppers between the ages of 35 and 44 at 18 percent. Consumers redeemed coupons for entertainment and food most frequently.
