Finnish handset vendor Nokia Corp. used its annual Nokia Connection event at telecom conference CommunicAsia in Singapore to beef up its mid-range offerings with three handsets, one destined for the United States.
The Nokia 3500 emphasizes style over substance, apparently, as its design and color scheme are touted by the vendor, but the device also offers an FM radio as well as a 2-megapixel camera and instant messaging. It offers 3 hours of talk time.
The device’s unsubsidized retail price is $181. No carrier deals were announced with the handsets, which also included the Nokia 6267, which emphasizes multimedia offerings, and the Nokia 6121, a 3G smartphone.
The handsets are scheduled to ship in the third quarter.
Nokia also introduced three new Bluetooth headsets. The BH-803 emphasizes style, the BH-604 offers stereo and the BH-602 focuses on voice quality for business use. All three headsets are destined for the U.S. market.
Nokia adds three handsets to mid-range portfolio, one for U.S.
