Nokia Siemens Networks is getting some fresh blood to fill its CFO position. Eric Simonsen, an American with varied experience in senior management positions at telecommunications and financial companies and Nokia Corp.’s global head of restructuring, assumes the CFO responsibilities effective today, the company announced.
“We are pleased that Eric has agreed to take on this challenge. He brings great expertise in the telecommunications industry and a demonstrated ability to manage change,” CEO Simon Beresford-Wylie said.
Simonsen replaces Peter Schoenhofer, who is resigning for personal reasons, according to the company. “We are grateful to Peter for his excellent contributions to the start of Nokia Siemens Networks,” Beresford-Wylie said.
Although his new position is full time, Simonsen will continue to hold the position of managing director of AlixPartners, a firm focused on helping companies manage integration and financial restructuring. Simonsen will work in Helsinki and Munich.
