A subsidiary of UniCell Advanced Cellular Solutions Ltd. has acquired TippCom Ltd. for an amount reported only as “several tens of millions of shekels (Israeli currency),” which could be anywhere from $2.5 million to $10 million, according to Israeli media.
The deal also reportedly involved a share swap that gives Fishman Holdings, parent of TippCom, a 20% share in UniCell. The deal is expected to close in a few weeks and is still subject to regulatory approvals.
UniCell, which is a wireless applications service provider for businesses and ad agencies, will move further into mobile content services for consumers with the acquisition.
