XO Communications has started offering wireless broadband services in Phoenix, to expand its offerings beyond its fiber network.
XO is offering the service in conjunction with XO-affiliated company Nextlink Wireless Inc., which has licenses for Local Multipoint Distribution System spectrum in 75 major metro areas.
XO is promising speeds between 10 megabits per second and 155 Mbps to support services such as high-speed dedicated Internet access, metro Ethernets, Voice over IP, network redundancy and wide area networks for environments such as campuses or business parks.
“This expansion of our network is part of our continuing focus to provide businesses with innovative high-speed network services and alternatives in the wake of a consolidating telecommunications industry,” said David Paul, general manger of the Phoenix market for XO.
