Mobile marketing startup Mozes Inc. picked up $5 million in a first round of funding from Norwest Venture Partners and North Bridge Venture Partners.
Mozes’ service, which is in beta testing, allows brands and other potential advertisers to build targeted, interactive mobile marketing campaigns through online and wireless messaging. The company initially is focusing on the music industry and hopes to create mobile communities around performing artists.
“The market opportunity for mobile content, text message delivery and related services is huge and continues to grow,” said Robert Abbott of Norwest Venture Partners. “Mozes empowers content publishers to provide compelling marketing events and campaigns directly to consumers’ mobile phones as they wish to receive them.”
