Cellphone retailer Yakety Yak Wireless Inc. announced it named a new CEO. David Timlin, a longtime retail executive, will take the company reins from Yuvi Shmul, who will remain a member of the company’s board of directors.
“I have been part of the wireless industry since its early days, and have watched the mobile phone evolve from a simple calling device to the must-have, multi-functional communications device it is today,” said Timlin, who has worked for Go Wireless, The Good Guys WOW, Al & Ed’s Autosound and other companies. “Your mobile phone is not just for making calls, but for checking email, surfing the Net, sending text messages, social networking, taking pictures, listening to music, watching movies or even showing them.”
Yakety Yak Wireless is a wireless franchiser that offers service from Sprint Nextel Corp., T-Mobile USA Inc., Verizon Wireless and others. The company counts more than 200 stores.
