Mobile marketing startup Millenial Media emerged from stealth mode with $6.3 million in its wallet.
Bessemer Venture Partners, Columbia Capital and Acta Wireless participated in the first round of funding for Millenial Media, which was founded by former Verizon Wireless executive Paul Palmieri. The company offers cross-platform ad-serving technology and hopes to foster relationships between advertisers and content providers looking to sell space on WAP pages.
“Everyone’s been looking for the secret sauce that will make advertising on mobile devices easier to understand, more actionable, relevant and profitable,” Palmieri said. “The challenge to date is that these audiences speak fundamentally different languages.”
