SAN MATEO, Calif.-Digital Chocolate Inc. is partnering with EMI Music Canada to include pop music into customized versions of its mobile games.
The companies’ first offering, Club k-os, is a takeoff on Digital Chocolate’s Nightclub Empire game. The title will include the hip-hop artist’s likeness and hit single “Sunday Morning,” and will include a direct link to carrier decks in an effort to push k-os’s ringtones.
The offering is an attempt to help carriers “better bridge the gap between their music and games deck.”
“While mobile gamers and music lovers often share common lifestyle interests, there have been very few mobile entertainment experiences that merge today’s hottest musical artists with the most popular games,” said Digital Chocolate CEO Trip Hawkins.
