NTT DoCoMo

NTT DoCoMo Inc. named Seiji Kawamura as the head of the Japanese telecommunications operator’s Washington, D.C., office.

Kawamura previously served as treasurer and head of the finance office at DoCoMo’s headquarters in Tokyo, and also served in the Washington, D.C., office while serving as a visiting scholar at the Brookings Institute in 1997 and 1998.

Obopay

Obopay made a trio of appointments. The mobile payment company named Christian Delay vice president of business development for mobile; Ramy Mora vice president of consumer marketing; and Sam Shawki vice president of customer operations.

Delay previously worked at Yahoo Inc. where he led mobile business development initiatives. Mora has past experience at Clorox, Microsoft Corp. and Yahoo. Shawki previously worked at Siebel, Netscape, Venturi Wireless and Shoretel.

Fujitsu

Fujitsu Microelectronics America Inc. named Keith Horn chief operating officer. Most recently, Horn was senior vice president of sales and marketing at the company and has been with Fujitsu since 1998.

Mixxer

Mixxer Inc., a mobile music destination, said its board of directors has chosen John Dearborn as the company’s new chief executive officer. Dearborn joins the company from American Greetings Interactive, where he was general manager and senior vice president. The company also appointed to new board members: David Carlick, managing director of VantagePoint Venture Partners, and Mark Metcalfe, CEO of Overton’s. The company’s outgoing CEO, William Bryant, will remain involved with the company as a strategic adviser and board member.

Fastmobile

Fastmobile Inc., a mobile integrated messaging and content solutions provider, appointed Doug Garland and Robert C. Hawk to its board of directors. Garland recently served as senior vice president of Yahoo Inc., where he led the company’s mobile initiatives. Prior to that, he was with PacTel/Airtouch. Hawk is president of Hawk Communications, which is an adviser to high-tech companies.

Wavestream

Wavestream, which makes solid-state power amplifiers, named Francis S. Auricchio Jr. executive vice president of engineering and technology. Auricchio’s experience includes 24 years at Boeing Satellite Systems, where he specialized in solid-state power amplifiers and low noise amplifiers. Most recently he was a senior scientist at Boeing.

Qualcomm

Jing Wang has been named senior vice president and chairman of Qualcomm Asia Pacific. Wang will manage the company’s Asia-Pacific operations, including forming and leading an Asia Pacific Strategy Committee within Qualcomm’s global business development organization to support acceleration of 3G CDMA deployment in the region. Wang replaces Ted Matsumoto, who accepted a position with Softbank Mobile. Wang has been with Qualcomm since 2001, joining the company from Reed Smith L.L.P.

Synchronica

Synchronica, which provides mobile device management and synchronization products, appointed Kim Hartley chief technical officer. Hartley joins the company from Mobilethink, a Danish company that specializes in over-the-air mobile device configuration. The company also announced it appointed Joachim Gmeinwieser chief operating officer. Gmeinwieser joined the company early this year as acting managing director for the company’s German operations.

Crown Castle

Crown Castle International Corp. appointed W. Benjamin Moreland, the company’s chief financial officer, to its board of directors. Moreland has served as the company’s CFO since 2000.

July Systems

July Systems named Michael Lunsford vice president of product management. Lunsford joins the company from EverNote Corp., where he was VP of product management. He also has held positions with MobileAria, ViaFone, Sony America and Palm Inc.

USA Mobility

USA Mobility appointed Nancy Green vice president of new business development. Green most recently was vice president of USA Mobility’s systems applications division. In her new role, she will be responsible for new business and product development within the company’s marketing organization. She has been with the company since 1995.

Telcogames

Telcogames, a mobile game distributor, named Enda Carey chief marketing officer. Carey joins the company from iFone, where he was marketing director.
