Mobilitec software aids MVNOs

SAN MATEO, Calif.-Mobilitec Inc. this week expects to launch an offering for operators and brands looking to publish, manage and deliver mobile content.

The mobile software developer will release mPower 5.0, a single-platform solution that supports the spectrum of wireless content including ringtones, games and streaming audio and video. The software is designed to accelerate publishing times and includes tools that allow operators and aggregators to offer bundled content from different providers.

The technology also matches content with supporting devices, accelerating delivery rates and increasing customer satisfaction, according to Chief Executive Officer Margaret Norton. “You have to make sure what gets shown to the user, what gets delivered to the user, can be played on that device,” Norton said.

Mobilitec boasts a customer base of more than 20 wireless operators serving more than 300 million subscribers worldwide. The 80-employee company is hoping to tap the burgeoning MVNO market by cutting time-to-market and easing delivery for wireless content.

“The single platform approach saves costs, but more importantly lets the operator provide a better subscriber experience through content packaging, promotion and improved customer service,” said Norton, “thus resulting in higher revenues and happier subscribers.”

Partners Comverse Technologies Inc. and LogicaCMG are showcasing the software at the 3GSM World Congress in Barcelona.
