ORLAND PARK, Ill.-Andrew Corp. announced a patent license agreement with Qualcomm Inc. to develop, manufacture and sell W-CDMA picocell and microcell base-station systems. Andrew said the agreement includes the use of certain Qualcomm intellectual property in the Andrew OneBase Pico, which is a single-carrier picocell wireless base station for small, coverage-limited data hotspots, as well as Andrew’s OneBase Micro, which covers larger areas. “This agreement supports our efforts to bring the benefits and value of our innovative OneBase portfolio to our global OEM customers,” said Mickey Miller, group president of Base Station Subsystems at Andrew.
