SUNNYVALE, Calif.-Firetide Inc., a wireless mesh networking provider, and Meru Networks, which provides Voice over Internet Protocol infrastructure, said they have teamed to provide voice communication capability on wireless mesh networks.
The companies plan to integrate Firetide’s HotPort mesh network with Meru’s wireless local area network system built for voice communication. The solution will provide voice-over-mesh deployments targeted at universities, hotels, recreational venues, airports, municipalities and warehouses, said the companies.
